When Surya + Budha + Ketu (Sun + Mercury + Ketu) share a sign, a yuti, the chart fuses Sun’s the soul, authority and vital life-force, Mercury’s intellect, speech and commerce and Ketu’s detachment, spirituality and liberation, and here all of it works through the 2nd house (Dhana), the house of wealth, family, speech and the resources you gather (Maraka; natural sign Taurus).

Sun, Mercury and Ketu in the 2nd house: the reading
Mercury is well placed in the 2nd house, the Sun gives mixed results there and Ketu is strained there, so Mercury leads the trio here. Inside the trio, Sun and Mercury do best here: Budhaditya Yoga in the 2nd house is a wealth yoga for those who earn by speech, writing, accounts, trade or administration. Sun and Ketu are the pair to watch: Ketu with the Sun in the house of wealth loosens the grip on money and family: the native earns but does not cling, may lose or renounce assets, and speaks little or in an unusual way.
When it works
- Wealth through intellect, speech or commerce
- A respected, articulate position in the family
- Detachment from money; contentment with less
- Depth in research, healing or spiritual income
What needs care
- Arrogance in speech when Mercury is combust
- Money lost to overconfidence in one's own reasoning
- Losses through indifference
- Estrangement from the family or a weak family bond
