What this free kundali gives you
- The lagna chart (D1) in the North Indian style, with every graha placed by sign and house.
- Exact positions: degree in sign, nakshatra and pada for the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu.
- Drishti (aspects): tap or hover a planet on the chart to see the houses it aspects, including the special aspects of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
- Retrograde and combust marks on the chart, computed from the actual distance to the Sun.
With a free account the same chart gains the Vimshottari dasha timeline, sixteen divisional charts, Shadbala strength, Sade Sati status, the annual varshaphal, daily rashifal by your Moon sign, and the AI Jyotish, which answers questions from your own chart rather than from your Sun sign.
How the chart is computed
Planetary longitudes come from the Swiss Ephemeris, the same engine used by professional astrology software, corrected to the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsha. The lagna is calculated from the exact time and the latitude and longitude of the birthplace, which is why the place field looks up real coordinates rather than a city name. Rahu is the mean node. The result is the chart a trained Jyotish in Kathmandu or Varanasi would draw by hand, without the arithmetic.
If the birth time is uncertain, cast the chart at the earliest and latest possible times and compare the lagna. When the lagna sign changes between the two, the house placements change with it and a rectification is worth doing before reading dashas.
How to read it once it is drawn
Start with the lagna and its lord: they set the frame. Then the Moon: its sign is your rashi for rashifal and for kundali matching, and its nakshatra starts the dasha clock. Then look for planets sharing a house; a conjunction is where two significations merge, and the site has a reading for every pair in every house. The Astrology 101 lessons take you through houses, planets, dignity, aspects and dashas in order, each with a live chart.
