What Vrishchika (Scorpio) means

Vrishchika (Scorpio) is the 8th rashi of the sidereal zodiac, spanning 210 to 240 degrees of the ecliptic. It is symbolised by the scorpion, ruled by Mars, and it governs the pelvis in the body. At its core, Vrishchika is about intense depth and transformative power.

It is a Water sign of Fixed (Sthira) quality. Those two facts do most of the work in a reading: the element sets the temperament, and the modality sets how that temperament behaves over time.
