Sun, Moon and Mercury in the 2nd house at a glance
When Surya + Chandra + Budha (Sun + Moon + Mercury) share a sign, a yuti, the chart fuses Sun’s the soul, authority and vital life-force, Moon’s the mind, emotions and nurturing instinct and Mercury’s intellect, speech and commerce, and here all of it works through the 2nd house (Dhana), the house of wealth, family, speech and the resources you gather (Maraka; natural sign Taurus).
How strong each graha is by sign: Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon) and Budha (Mercury).
Sun, Moon and Mercury in the 2nd house: the reading
The Moon and Mercury are well placed in the 2nd house and the Sun gives mixed results there, so the Moon and Mercury lead the trio here. Inside the trio, Moon and Mercury do best here: The Moon and Mercury in the 2nd house give a sweet, fluent, persuasive voice and money through communication, trade, teaching or the public. Sun and Moon are the pair to watch: In the house of wealth, speech and family the dark Moon with the Sun gives money earned by one's own will rather than inherited, blunt honest speech, and a family in which the native becomes the authority early.
When it works
- Self-made wealth and a commanding voice in family matters
- Financial independence from the family
- Wealth through intellect, speech or commerce
- A respected, articulate position in the family
What needs care
- Speech too blunt for family harmony
- Eye or dental trouble and money lost through pride
- Arrogance in speech when Mercury is combust
- Money lost to overconfidence in one's own reasoning
