Muhurta is the branch of Jyotish concerned with choosing a moment. The principle is simple: a beginning inherits the sky it starts under, so the chart of the starting moment shapes what follows.
Most muhurat lists online are generic, computed for nobody in particular. This one is personalised: the candidate windows are checked against your own chart, because a time that is broadly auspicious can still fall badly for your lagna or your running dasha.
How a muhurat is chosen
Start from the panchanga
Tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and vara are checked for the activity, since each is suited to different kinds of undertaking.
Avoid the known bad windows
Rahu kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika and the inauspicious choghadiya segments are excluded.
Check the lagna of the moment
The ascendant rising at the chosen time, and the grahas in kendras from it, decide much of the result.
Check it against your chart
The window is compared with your own lagna, Chandra rashi and current dasha, which is what makes it yours rather than generic.
What it will not do
A good muhurat improves the odds; it does not override a chart. No timing makes an unsuitable undertaking succeed, and Jyotish has never claimed otherwise.
